I took this photo five years ago. I was then on holidays in New York City and decided to go for a walk on my own towards Brooklyn. Going to Brooklyn via the Brooklyn Bridge is a much nicer idea than going with the subway. Once on the other side, there is a lovely walk with benches and you can just sit there and look at Manhattan's skyscrapers.
However, I decided it was not enough and that I should venture more in Brooklyn. I visited Park Slope and really wanted to make my way to Coney Island. Unfortunately, I had forgotten that my map stopped at Brooklyn Heights, and got lost. I then had to eventually take the subway to find my way. That was stupid of me, always have a map in very big cities...

I shot this photo on my way towards Brooklyn. It was early morning, and there were just a few people having relaxing walks. I chose black and white as I think it stops that moment in time for me.

Great photo and commentary. Going to have to follow your example and walk over to Brooklyn the next time I get there. Agree that maps are essential. Surprised you couldn't find someone to help you find a may - lower Manhattan had tourist aids all over the place when I was there last January. Nice stuff.

Thank you Michael! I hope you enjoy your next walk on the Bridge, it is just amazing. I agree I should have asked for help, but I found myself walking in a very dodgy area of Brooklyn, and it just was not an option, I just jumped in the first subway station I found. Thanks again for the comment!
