One sunny Sunday morning last month, I made my way to the lovely family home of Edel and James to photograph their adorable baby boy Harry.
This baby photography session was a bit different from the usual ones where I mostly capture portraits of the little one on his/her own and with his/her parents (also siblings if there are any). This time, it was divided between a private baby session and taking photos of Harry's naming day ceremony that was taking place at their home.
The first part of the session included a lot of smiling by Harry and a very relaxed time capturing memories of him on his own and with his mum and dad. Even Baxter, who has been part of Edel and James' life for 8 years, was involved in the photo session and had his portrait taken (he was also given a few cuddles for the occasion).
We all took a little break so Edel, James and Harry could get ready before the rest of their family arrived for the ceremony.
Edel and James had decided to have a private naming day ceremony at home for Harry and conducted it themselves. It was obvious a lot of thought had been put into it with a lovely choice of texts, beautiful speeches read by them and members of their family (at some point, I was very glad my eyes were hidden behind my camera because the emotion in the room really got contagious) and other details that made the whole event very personal and special to them and Harry.
It was such a pleasure getting to capture those moments and create memories for Edel, James and Harry.
Spending a sunny Sunday doing this for a lovely family is wonderful indeed!
